Ingredient Dictionary

You’ve reached the Sasse Skin dictionary. 10 points to Gryffindor for being an intellectual!

Here is a breakdown of every ingredient we use in our products. Use this as a quick reference to learn about our ingredients and understand why we choose to use them.

Like the Oxford dictionary, we’ll keep updating this page each time we release a new product.

Calcium Bentonite An absorbent powder that detoxifies the skin by binding to and removing excess sebum (oil) and impurities from the skin.
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride An excellent emollient derived from coconut oil and glycerin which works to moisturise and protect the skin.

Can be used as a natural dye while also carrying antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties that may improve skin health and appearance.

Diethylhexyl Sodium Sulfosuccinate An oil-soluble surfactant which allows oil-based formulas to effectively foam and wash off the skin. We’re pretty proud of this one.
Glycerin A humectant, which is a type of moisturising agent that pulls water into the outer layer of your skin from deeper levels of your skin and the air.
Leptospermum Scoparium Mel (Manuka Honey) Holds strong antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties while also acting as a humectant (meaning it’s superpower is the ability to draw in moisture).
Polyglyceryl-2-Dipolyhydroxystearate A water in oil emulsifier. Allows the smooth combination of water-soluble ingredients into oil-soluble ingredients. Super cool.

An absorbent powder used as a thickening agent. Makes the product feel heaps nicer. It’s the small things, you know?
